The pitching was again stellar in the second game of the series, played on Halloween, with the offense picking up where it left off, as Canada stuffed Peru 10-0. Hicks had a hit in the big run fourth inning to help out. Although they jumped out to a 2-0 lead the next day, they ended up losing their first game to Puerto Rico, 3-2. Hicks again was a star, driving the team’s two runs in on a first inning double.

The team came back in the next game, beating Mexico 6-1. After a hit in the fourth and moving on, Hicks was stranded at third.

In game 5, the Canadian women were in tough against the eventual champion US on November 3, and it showed, as they were beat 8-3. This left them 1-2 in the “super round”, and put them in the bronze medal game against Mexico, a game in which Hicks contributed a two-run single to put the squad up 5-0.

Hicks played first base for the tournament, and as her performance showed, was a key player at the plate. She climbed up the batting order from sixth in game one to fifth in the second and third games, to fourth in game four. She remained in the cleanup spot for the rest of their time in Santiago.
